Northeast Contractors, Inc. completed site work for the new Duxbury Co-Located Middle &
The new building combined both the middle and high schools into one location. The project was phased over the course of 40 months, allowing both existing schools to operate while the new facility was under construction.
Re-location of much of the existing underground utilities was required in order to enable the new building footprint to be constructed while the existing schools were still operational. Once the new school was completed, the existing schools were demolished, allowing for the construction of the new parking lots, driveways, sidewalks, and athletic fields.
The project included over 120,000 cubic yards of earthwork, over 25,000 linear feet of below grade utility installation, including storm drainage, sewer, water and electrical, and approximately 450,000 square feet of paving and sidewalks. Also included in the site work were modular block walls, as well as new curbing, fencing, and bio-retention ponds.
